I completed my first Peachtree Road Race this week! I’m so glad that I signed up. Of all the other races I’ve done, this was definitely the LARGEST in terms of people. According to the official site, close to 58,000 people crossed the finish line. Crazy!? I finished at 1:07. I’m proud of myself! That’s about 1 minute over the practice time I completed a 10k in last week. During the race, I didn’t run with music and took in the sites and sounds of Atlanta. The course featured several bands and DJs. I enjoyed the preachers throwing holy water. I can’t wait to sign up next year. My parents are considering making it a “family affair”. My mom keeps talking about doing it next time. I did so much reading about what to expect. The one thing that I didn’t do enough of was hydrate. I felt drained after the run and it wasn’t terribly hot. I blame lack of fluids. That’s one thing I want to work on for my next race or two: proper hydration!
