I learned about the new Target Style Beauty Box launching a month ago on Twitter. So, I signed up, not really knowing what to expect but excited! I have mentioned before that I love getting monthly box subscriptions. The Target Style one is my third to try (Birchbox, Goodies). Side note: Does “monthly box” sound like a strange way to describe these? That’s what they are, but that sounds kind of odd to say sometimes. Maybe it’s just me 😉

I will definitely be trying the Sally Hanson Salon Effects nails, the razor and Effaclar Duo acne treatment lotion.
The BB Cream is “light” which means I can’t do anything with it 🙁 and I have several bottles of the Fekkai Glossing cream. One of which I believe came in the Birchbox. So, that product isn’t really exciting to me. The $3 off coupon will also come in handy for any in store purchases that I have to make at Target. For $5, I’d say it was worth it and I will continue receiving it for a few more months. The razor itself costs more than $5! Coincidentally, I just purchased a pack of Venus razors from Target a few weeks ago. For now, it looks like subscriptions are limited and closed, so when they open again, I will share an invitation!
Speaking of BB Cream, I’ve noticed lots of hype surrounding BB and CC Creams lately. I’ve seen a few setups in store at Target, Dillards and Macys. I never purchased the cream in store, but I always wondered, what is the hype around these creams?
Recently, I attended a Beauty Blogger event for AJ Crimson hosted by beauty blogger Makeup by Ren Ren in Atlanta. AJ Crimson is a celebrity makeup artist who has worked with Fergie, Letoya Luckett, Adrienne Baillon, Estelle and more. He came to Atlanta to launch his BB cream. One of the first things that I noticed about AJ’s products?
The wonderful range of colors! I found a perfect cream foundation match and BB cream too. I also appreciated how the colors did not have labels like “light, medium, tan, dark” they were numbers. I’m a number 4 in cream foundation and BB cream. That’s simple to remember! I purchased the BB+D cream. I regret not getting the cream foundation though.

Oh, and I have been wearing my hair natural for summer. It’s perfect running hair, but I’m learning more as each week passes on styling and hair health. That week, I learned that my hair needed extra moisture! Thank you YouTube, and natural hair bloggers and stylists.
AJ Crimson and I. AJ was so nice! He greeted me right when I walked in the door and introduced himself.
For my next event, I will definitely be trying the BB+D cream! If you are interested in checking out AJ’s BB+D Cream shop here.
In terms of Monthly beauty boxes, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend Ipsy’s “Glam bag”, its $10 a month, and you get 5-6 full size products & a new make up bag each month. You fill out a survey so they know your style, skin tone, and the types of beauty products you like.. i love it.
The 2nd one is e.l.f beauty bundle.. its $19.99 every 8 weeks.. and you get 11-12 full size products! One of the products is one of their eye shadow pallets! I got my 2nd one today and got a 32 piece eye shadow pallet, along with 11 other full size products. Ive always been a huge fan of elf….
I thought Id share those with you 😉
Hope all is well!

Thanks for the recommendation! I’ve never heard of the Ipsy “Glam Bag”. I did check it out and I think I will sign up for it. Sounds like a good one. I do Birchbox and I really like it. I never got the Target Beauty box again. I guess they put it on hold? I also used to do Goodies and I loved that for all of my desk snacks at work.
I didn’t know you replied until just now :-/ Im sorry about that! hehe
Did you end up trying the Ipsy glam bag?
I actually post all of my beauty boxes on Vine! Here is my April Glam bag, if you’d like to see what kind of they put in it. Unless you receive the bag now hehe.
I was going to do birch box, but I don’t like the whole “sample” thing lol. To me, It’s kind of a tease! haha. Especially because I can’t afford the full size products they put in the box. That why I love Ipsy and elf’s beauty bags. Bc they provide full size products, for $10 a month.
🙂
