I must apologize for the gaps in posting. This summer has been a whirlwind. But I have to be honest and transparent here… sometimes I struggle with how much I share with blog readers. When I blogged in college everything was open game. But these days, in an attempt to be professional I leave out some of the more “juicy” details and daily frustrations that come into play.
The internet is huge for oversharing. Celebrity nude photo “leaks” and hacked Twitter accounts are rampant now. One celebrity I admire for NOT oversharing is Jerry Seinfield. This year, he launched a website featuring his personal archives. Each day, he shares 3 new stand-up routines from his personal archives. You can’t search his routines or go forward or backward by day. You see whatever comes up for that day. Each day viewers get to watch a little bit more of his comedy. For people like me who have never watched Seinfield (true, I have never watched…but I do understand how it is culturally significant) I think the website is great.
Maybe that’s a strategy I should take with my own blog? Share little bits over time? I’ll think on it. Have you been to JerrySeinfeld.com yet? Take a look at today’s features from his archives.
