Whenever I think back on getting my period for the first time, I remember my mom giving me a copy of Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret. If I have a daughter one day, I will definitely do the same. I was not like Margaret because she was one of those girls obsessed with getting her period. She was prepared before she even needed to be. I got my first period at an overnight religion summer camp before 7th grade and I was totally unprepared.

Caught off guard + away from home = embarrassing!

These days, I try to always keep my bases covered. Keeping a liner or two in my purse always helps. Our bodies and our lives are unpredictable sometimes and having that bit of protection with me makes me feel at ease. For all moments unpredictable or planned, Kotex keeps me covered. Period.
