Wine is not hip. Wine is not cool. Wine is for old people. Those three sentences summed up my thoughts on wine long ago.
Interesting how we judge things before really trying them. That’s what I used to think. Who drinks wine? I was young, naive and I really didn’t know much about the “fine art” of wine. My first taste happened in college when I worked at a restaurant called Plates on the Square. That’s the first time I did a wine tasting. The very first time I learned that there’s an art to it.
My opinion changed to: Wine is classic and timeless. If you pick the right bottle, it adds flair to your meal. Everyone should know how to order a great glass of wine. Recently, I started attending a monthly wine club called DGLW Wine Club hosted by Certified Specialist of Wine Maxine Lee .

Bordeaux wine
Last month we started our series on France beginning with Bordeaux red wines. I’m a fan of reds so I enjoyed Maxine’s selections and hearing about the left and right bank of France. Maxine pairs each wine with the appropriate food. My goal is to learn more about pairing wine with meals and selecting a great bottle for gifts. This month, we will taste the white wines of Bordeaux! The next meeting is this Sunday, February 10th. I’d love to see some of my readers there :). Feel free to check out the invitation and learn more about what we will discuss on Sunday here. If you can’t make it, subscribe to stay in the loop about future events here.
Did you ever have a negative opinion of something until you tried it?
